four years ago today i moved to this crazy, ridiculous city that i now call home. i am trying to muster up something to write, some words to say, but i am finding nothing. and i think that’s because after four years my life here in new york is normal. it almost seems as if there is nothing much to commemorate at this point. but yet, i will power through and write this post because,...

story of a really great weekend!
on Friday evening Liz and i schlepped down to the East Village for a UCB show put on by some of the writers from the blog, Hello Giggles. it was a lot of fun - there were about six different writers and they each got up and read a short story they’d written. most about something awkward or terrible that had happened in their life, in a lighthearted way, of course, and most of them were...

so… you know how all these bloggers make “gift guides” that are supposed to be so great and helpful (thanks, professional bloggers, for the suggestion of giving someone a $500 candle that smells like lavender and tree sap and meatloaf, but ‘omg it’s amazing’ -do you think all your readers are swimming in extra cash and actually plan to buy these things?)

new restaurant recommendation - Vai
last night we had dinner with some friends from Redeemer at this restaurant called Vai on the upper west side (there is also a SoHo location, although I can’t speak for it…). I am now adding it to my list of recommendations. it was absolutely delicious and the interior is so quaint and cozy. a good winter restaurant, for sure. they have an extensive wine list, really excellent waiters,...
