random thoughts in no particular order...
ever since alice made a delicious kale salad last weekend, i have been all about kale. in-law’s are coming for a long memorial day weekend. the rain needs to go away though, it’s quite a drag. it’s memorial day weekend and i have a half day tomorrow at work, too. i foresee a lot of good food in our future, starting with reservations at butter tomorrow night. pedicures this...
reminder of God's faithfulness!
About this time last year (+ a couple of weeks before) there were massive rains happening in my hometown of Harrison, Arkansas. We were about a month away from our wedding, which was supposed to be entirely outdoors at my parents’ house. We had a meager rain plan in place, but I was less than thrilled about that and could not imagine my wedding being anywhere except for the backyard that I grew up...

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO MY WONDERFUL PARENTS
…AND HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LAUREN ROSS!
{the week of May 14th}
last week and this past weekend were super busy. the kind of week i simultaneously love and loathe because my heart always feels so full when i get to see lots of friends, but i also end up exhausted and get no rest before another week starts. alas.
last monday i took my tap class after work. tuesday nights we have our Redeemer community group. Wednesday we went to look at an apartment we were...
FreddyCat's Diary - #1
Hi everyone,
My name is Fred Astaire Brown, but my mom calls me FreddyCat. She also calls me fat a lot, which is kind of rude, but I ignore it because she feeds me and scoops my poop and well…I am just a little on the obese side.
My favorite thing to do, besides being really lazy, sleeping all day and licking myself, is to climb up on the windowsill and watch the cars and the birds outside. My...
Highlights of this past weekend include:
Celebrating Liz’s birthday with her both Friday and Saturday nights.
On Friday after work we met up for a glass of wine and then had dinner at our trusty companion Nanoosh. We walked up Amsterdam to 16 Handles after that for ice cream. Did you know 16 Handles will give you free ice cream on your birthday? They will, just show your ID. I can’t wait for...

Hope for New York Spring Benefit
thursday night i attended the Hope for New York spring benefit. it was lovely to visit with lots of friends and acquaintances, eat some good food, hear a pretty cool band play and see a lot of money raised for this organization that i love so much!
you’ve probably heard me mention Hope for New York before if you follow my blog on a consistent basis. but HFNY is an organization that was spun...
celebrity prom, a.k.a. met cosutme gala photos
The Met Costume Gala was a few days ago and one of my favorite bloggers, Jamie Beck (she is an amazing photographer) took photos of ALL the celebs and their sartorial choices while entering the event.
i just had to post some of these because, WOW. you can see her entire post with tons of pictures here: http://fromme-toyou.tumblr.com/post/22679501333/the-met-gala

…was a process.
clif woke up a bit earlier than I, as he always does to make us coffee (he rocks!) but came back into the bedroom a few seconds later and said “we don’t have anymore coffee…”
…ok.
so he got back in bed and we slept until 8. finally i get up and start getting ready, only to realize my hair is disgusting. it rained on me walking home last night...

the end of a spectacular weekend...
our weekend finished up fabulously. Clif’s house-concert on Saturday evening was a smashing success. our very generous friend Lauren Ross held it at her apartment. we put out all the cheese we got at Murray’s (see previous post) with lots of crackers, nuts, sopresatta sausage and grapes. we also had a nice assortment of wines. i was nervous that no one would eat the cheeses, as they...
{the week in review}
we’ve had a wild ‘n crazy week here at the Brown household. work has been extremely busy for me and i’ve just left feeling exhausted every day. also, my brother Cary has been staying with us so it’s been a full house. i’ve gotten so used to him being here that when he leaves on Monday i will definitely be a bit sad and have to re-adjust to life without him.
