our MLK day off was AMAZING, mostly because we got to MEET Chef Zakarian at his restaurant, The National. the food was delicious and we were enjoying ourselves already, but then our waiter alerted us to the fact that Chef Zakarian was IN THE BUILDING and i flipped out, you guys. once i spotted him i was giddy and couldn’t stop staring — if you know me at all, you know that sometimes i tend to stare at people a little past the point of just “people watching.” except this time…it paid off! Chef Zakarian totally spotted me, eyes wide with wonderment, and came over to introduce himself and say hello. it was super awesome and he was the most down to earth, humble person ever. then we asked for a photo with him and definitely felt like 8th graders, but you know what…who cares?!
verdict: awesome moment, incredible lunch, good day!
